images to explore every aspect of a plants that I liked.
In order to create my portfolio, I had to remove some photos that didn’t really fit in with the rest,
out the images that did not fit, this included my work records 2 and 4. These images-even though
and white edits and work record 4 having a model in it. This left me with my images from my
work record 1,3,5,6,7,8.
Research of my project has been extremely influential in my work. Looking into other images of.
For example, I was certain I wanted my work record 1 & 2 to show the process of dying flowers.
In this shoot I was influenced by my research of Imogen Cunningham and Sarah Jones. The
research helped me with the set up as Jones gave me the inspiration for the snoot lighting and
also with the editing as i de-saturated my photos and in my next shoot i will make the photos
more black and white with contrast like the images by Cunningham. Carrying on with my
project, I went on to take multiple shoots in forests of wild flowers. These shoots were
influenced by Andrea Jones. For example, work record 7, myresearch of Andrea Jones helped
as it gave me the influence of my pink flower photo by making the background blurred with the
sun shining through, making it look like Jones' berry picture as shown below.
In this project, I tried a bit of experimenting. Due to the current crisis I had to do this shoot from
home without studio lighting or a model, therefore I used a lamp I had and my remote control
app on my phone to take the pictures. Due to this I had trouble setting the photo up right and
caught my hand in the image holding the plant. I then went on to experiment with my edits of
my best images. I did this by quick selecting a flower and then creating a feather on the mask
and then copying it over. Once it was on the original image I transformed it by scaling and
rotating in order to make the flower sit right on the models body. My next step was to blur
around the image to make it less obvious that it was from another picture. Below are some
screenshots of my editing.
