Preparation:

In this shoot, i will be developing on my forest/field walk - taking more photos of wild flowers and plants 
Artist Research:

Andrea Jones:

Raised in the south of England by her Mother who loved gardens and Father who loved photography, she became fascinated and inspired by naturally occurring art forms.

'Trees and plants each have their own character. Many change their clothes depending on the season, some disappear into the ground when the climate changes. Others appear in the warmth of the early morning light, stun me with their beauty and then drop their petals before my eyes. Some refuse to wake up until late and only consent photography in the full sun. I love spending hours getting to know their intimate secrets through my camera lens.'

Images that Need improving:

Editing &AO2: Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops.

I used my Nikon D3500 camera to take these photos. I tried to adjust the camera setting, like shutter speed, aperture and ISO to make the photos look their best. 

I then went on to edit my best images by changing the curves and levels, sometimes burning and dodging to add shadows on certain parts of my image. I then increased the contrast.

A03:Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.

My idea for plants was to photograph both bright lively plants and flowers. I was inspired from my research of Nick knight and Imogen Cunningham in previous work records and my research of Andrea Jones. 

The images came out as I expected, however I wish I had taken photos with different compositions to create a wide variety .

The last image was at a low angle so that I had a Ray of natural light shining on the top but also creating shadow and different tones. I also wanted to capture the simple detail of within the flowers.

A01: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.

 The artist research was helpful as I liked that I could take photos of flowers in different ways and could show different combinations of colours. My research of Nick Knight helped me focus on both natural colours made by flowers but also abstract colours through photoshop. My research of Jones influenced me to take photos with blurred backgrounds and with the sun shining through, making it look like Jones' orange flower picture as shown above.
